Candida Wingate
Project Development Officer
Candida’s role entails, “Everything from having an idea and writing the funding bid to handing round the biscuits.”
Candida is originally from London, she arrived in Suffolk in 1979 by way of Norfolk, Kent and Spain. In 1984, she returned to London, by way of Cambridge, for a few years, before finally getting back to the county in 1990, and has lived here ever since.
For Candida, the best thing about being a part of Suffolk Artlink is “the joy of being in the moment – when you’re working with a group of participants and artists and everything becomes possible – being challenged to think and act and be, outside my own comfort zone and encouraging others to step out of theirs, too. I always feel I get far more than I’m ever able to give.”
“I have an allotment and I do enjoy gardening – although what I really like is leaning on a spade and contemplating what I might do next, if only I had the energy.”
