JumpstART!

An arts training course for people with learning disabilities. JumpstART! offered students the chance to enjoy an in-depth exploration of an art form whilst developing creative and life skills.

Students worked alongside professional artists during 10-week art courses. Through artist-led sessions, trips to cultural venues and a final public celebration of their work, students learnt new skills and gained confidence, friendships and wellbeing.

Courses were delivered in Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Ipswich and focused on a wide variety of art forms including illustration, dance, film-making, photography, music and visual arts.

At the end of each course, students were offered advice and guidance on how to progress on to volunteering, work experience and further training.
