Wild About Kirkley free creative events and talks

Suffolk Artlink’s Wild About Kirkley project is based at Kirkley Church Hall, St Peters Road and runs regular, free, creative sessions, open to everyone in the local community. Sessions offer opportunities to learn about Kirkley’s unique natural environment with a particular focus on connecting people with soil and land to boost mental health.

Over the coming months we have many great sessions planned in Kirkley. We are particularly excited to be part of Heritage Open Days offering our new accessible foraging route, devised in collaboration with some of our participants. The Sensory Forage Walk on the 18th September 2022 is ideal for wheelchair users, those who struggle with long distances and people who are visually impaired.

This project is funded by Arts Council England and Suffolk County Council.

Sessions are all free, but booking is essential.

Sunday 11th September 12 – 4pm at Heritage Open Days Herring & Ale Maritime Fayre

Sunday 18th September 11am -1.30pm Sensory Forage Walk, Kirkley Cemetery, NR33 0PD

Wednesday 21st September 12.30-2pm Garden social, refreshments provided, Kirkley Pantry Garden, NR33 OLJ

Our FREE program of activities and events are running until March 2023.

Autumn / Winter events will include talks and lunch with special guest Prof. Brian Reid – soil scientist from UEA, creative cooking workshops and more …. Dates and times tbc.
