Greetings from Kirkley Pantry

It was a pleasure to visit the Kirkley Pantry on Tuesday this week to deliver a Greetings from Lowestoft session together with artist Caitlin and Nye.

We began with a brief ‘history’ of Lowestoft’s origins as a seaside resort and the conversation soon swelled to include participants’ memories of local attractions, including air shows, inclement British weather and boating ponds in Kensington Gardens.

The group then set to, creating the most beautiful collaged postcards of the town, using snippets of vintage cards and advertisements as well as any number of ribbons, buttons and beads.

Each postcard is a personal invitation to family and friends, inviting them to another great Lowestoft seaside attraction – the First Light Festival Parade.
