Re>Charge

Wellbeing sessions at the Battery of Ideas in Lowestoft in partnership with First Light C.I.C.

The Battery of Ideas Place Partnership is a new project managed by First Light C.I.C. it is designed to grow public awareness and engagement in the Cultural Quarter development in the Lowestoft town centre.

Situated in the old Tesco Building on Lowestoft High Street the Battery of Ideas will host two creative wellbeing programmes managed by Suffolk Artlink.

Re>Charge a social prescribing 12 week programme designed to support health and wellbeing and Re>Charge Together a creative community wellbeing 8 week programme aimed at reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Re>Charge will offer a welcoming safe space to experience creative and mindful activities together. Artists Eleanor Rodwell and Sarah Lewis will lead the relaxed sessions. There will be the opportunity to learn new skills in a variety of different art forms inspired by local heritage.

No creative experience is necessary the sessions are a friendly way of experiencing new skills and to promote wellbeing.

The programme is to support people aged 18 year or over living in Lowestoft and Waveney with long term health needs. Participation is through referral. Health and Wellbeing, Care Co-ordinators and Health Support Workers are welcome to also attend. The Battery or Ideas is accessible friendly.

‘"Learning these new skills has transformed my life and given me so much inspiration."’
