A Beary Big Thank You!
As we approach Children in Need appeal night, we wanted to take this time to say a huge thank you to all the brilliant people and organisations that make our Clown Round project possible.
It’s been a crazy time, even for our clown doctors (who are used to a certain amount of crazy!) and we are so grateful to the fabulous folk at BBC Children in Need for being so flexible, and continuing to support us through changing restrictions over the past 18 months. They’ve helped to ensure our clowns can continue to help as many young people and their families as possible.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our five fantastic clown doctors, who have been incredible at developing their well established face-to-face practice to reach young people and families in new ways. From creating music videos and paying families visits using Zoom to offering garden play sessions and even making visits through windows! Their inventiveness, resilience and professionalism blew us away, as they continued to bring smiles and joy to families that needed it more than ever.
Our partner hospitals and hospices have also been wonderful, working with us to get our clowns safely back on their ward rounds as soon as possible as circumstances changed.
It’s been a real team effort, and none of it would be possible without our BBC Children in Need funding, which has been supporting Clown Round for an incredible 13 years.
Tune in on Friday 19th November on BBC One for BBC Children in Need’s big appeal show, which returns for a jam-packed evening of entertainment and a glittering evening of fun and fundraising. The money raised through the show helps support charities like Suffolk Artlink to provide essential frontline help to children and young people in communities throughout the UK.
