Friends Around the Table heads to Woodbridge
We are heading to Woodbridge. We had a busy launch with face to face sessions at the Museum of East Anglain Life. Then went to deliver remoste sessions via Zoom. Now we are returning to face to face sessions in Woodbridge.
Mike Knowlden from Blanche & Shock helped us keep warm and safe in the uncertain depths of winter. He ran a series of Friends Around the Table Zoom sessions taking participants on a journey along the Spice Route’s rich history. Exploring what can enliven our food as well as everyday life.
Participants recieved spice packages throught the post along with recipes and wellbeing activities to experiment with in between sessions. The group worked with Mike to creat their own spice mix inspired by the group’s favourite flavours, textures and food experiences.
As we head towards spring, we will be heading back to face to face sessions in Woodbridge. The face to face seesions will be led by professional forager Jon Tyler and artist Kasia Posen.
Jon and Kasia will be exploring food, culture and nature in new and inspiring ways to create opportunities to meet new people, as well as improve our physical and mental wellbeing. Both Jon and Kasia will open share the multitude of tasty and creative activities we can enjoy from all that nature provides. Sessions will involve exploring materials and ingredients we can find in our own gardens, on walks and in our kitchen cupboards to create and enjoy.
We aim to make sessions accessible for all, so if you are interested in joining but are worried about the walks being too long, fear not, we can bring the materials and ingredients to you in our venue, The Deben Annexe at Woodbridge Community Hall. Please do get in touch with Carrie to discuss further or to talk about any other access requirements you may have: carrie@suffolkartlink.org.uk
Our FREE weekly Woodbridge sessions are taking place at The Deben Annexe, Woodbridge Community Hall 23rd February – 23rd March 2022 at 10.30am-12.30pm. Booking is essential as spaces are limited. We particularly welcome adult family carers, adults living in rural locations as well as those struggling with feelings of loneliness.
