Brave Art Practice Sharing
Our incredibly talented Brave Artists held a practice sharing event at the DanceHouse, Ipswich, on Thursday 24th July 2024.
Learning disabled artists from across Suffolk came together to share their work and practice and celebrate the power of creativity.
Bringing students together from Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft created a special and stimulating event.
In the afternoon the artists opened their event to friends, family, and supporters. Erik Mack ran a monster drawing workshop, Josh led on portraiture, Terry and artist facilitator Eleanor Rodwell created work from recycled materials, and students helped people explore drawing and painting techniques.
Josh’s portraits of Suffolk Artlink were a big hit. Co-Director Alex Casey delightedly posed with her portrait for a photo.
Alistair said: “It was incredibly exciting to see my likeness emerge from a blank sheet of paper so quickly. It only took Josh a few minutes. People’s creative ability is amazing – it’s magical alchemy.”
Thank you to DanceEast for hosting our event in their beautiful venue, and to our grant funders Suffolk Community Foundation through the Suffolk Giving Fund, the Birketts Fund & the Arts & Culture Fund, Leading Lives Community Benefit Fund, Christchurch Mansion, Baily Thomas Charitable Fund, and business donor Stobbs IP Ltd.
