Trustee Mike James bids a fond farewell to Suffolk Artlink
Mike James, Suffolk Artlink’s longest serving trustee and treasurer, bids a fond farewell to Suffolk Artlink. Mike is a chartered management accountant and was the Finance Director for the silk manufacturer Stephen Walters Ltd.
Suffolk Artlink’s trustees play an important role, providing strategic direction and ensuring we achieve our charitable mission. Mike has lent Suffolk Artlink his passion for the arts and considerable financial and strategic skills and will be much missed.
Mike’s farewell message:
“In the 12 years that I have been fortunate to be part of this amazing organisation I have seen many changes.
It has carefully and successfully evolved, adapted, improved and grown the much needed services it offers and its reputation has rightly grown accordingly.
It has achieved this through the talent, creativity, professionalism and commitment of the people who work here.
The culture of care, consideration and mutual support is unrivalled in any organisation I have worked in and has been an inspiration to me.
Over this time the shape and makeup of the Board has also radically changed and been greatly strengthened, offering more help, advice and support. It is also now beginning to diversify more and I’m sure this will continue.
It has been a joy and real privilege to be part of this fantastic organization.
And I have no doubt that with all the strengths it has, Artlink will continue to develop and thrive in spite of the many challenges ahead and its reputation will continue to grow.”
