Brave Art Autumn Programme Ipswich

Brave Art is a programme for learning disabled and neurodivergent people to access high quality creative opportunities. Through a series of artist-led sessions in three locations we provide inspiration and support for people to express themselves through visual arts, bringing the social and wellbeing benefits of being creative together.

Each session starts with a group activity, skill sharing or discussion, before people are invited to develop and work on a personal project. Participants are encouraged and supported to explore their interests and develop their own creative voice through a range of materials, techniques and creative prompts.

Courses are based in community spaces in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Lowestoft.

There is no session on 30th October.

Our experienced Project Officer Charlie Meyer will, as usual, create a safe and welcoming space where everyone can be creative and make new friends.

Our 8 creative sessions are led by talented artist Eleanor Rodwell: “Hello, I am a Suffolk-based visual artist. My practice centres around the body and its response to the environment and emotional experience. I explore this through drawing, painting, printmaking and metal casting. I am often drawn to landscape, strange natural forms, and how these can mirror emotions. Recently, I’ve completed residencies in Catalonia, Norway, Portugal and Norfolk, and I have exhibited both in the UK and internationally.”
